The TMC Library provides an array of technologies to serve you. Although the technology services are provided at no additional cost, use is governed by the Library's Acceptable Use Policy.

All of these services have connectivity to the Internet as well as to the national high-speed research network backbones.
In addition to Library provided computers, a wireless network is available for all clients to use. Ubiquitous wireless connectivity is available using 802.11 a/b/g capable devices. To connect, use your computer's Browse for Available Networks application and find the strongest signal with the site ID (SSID) = HAMTMCL. When prompted for a password, type THETMCLIBRARY (all caps).
The hardware in the classrooms and labs is kept up-to-date on a three year technology refresh cycle. The current minimum configuration:
All systems are configured with 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise and Office Suite 2010.For the protection of our users' privacy and to enhance the stability and integrity of the systems, they are also protected with DeepFreeze and are rebooted to a clean, known state on-demand and nightly.
In the Classroom and Computer Labs, workstations are loaded with the Microsoft® Office 2010 Professional Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Publisher and InfoPath). Visio and Project are available upon request. SiteFinder and EndNote are also available on the classroom computers for training purposes. The latest Web browsing software from Microsoft®, Mozilla® and Google® are loaded on these computers. Headphones are available at the Circulation Desk.
Each system is also protected by GFI VIPRE 5.0 Internet Protection solution.

We currently hold over 351,000 book and journal volumes for use.
Patrons have access to over 7100 electronic full-text journals.
InterLibrary Loans lent over 11,800 books, articles, or journals in 2009-2010.
The TMC Library held over 120 classes, with over 2600 attendees in 2009-2010.
