Membership & Cards
Anyone who visits The TMC Library is welcome to use all of the resources of the Library. Database and electronic journal access requires a Resource Access username and password available at the Circulation Desk. For those already registered, your current user name and password will work on all public computers. A TMC Library card, or a card from any of the Texas Health Science Library Consortium member libraries, is required to borrow materials.

We offer different types of cards:
- Full-Member Cards
- TexShare Cards
Organizations and individuals that wish to have borrowing and other membership privileges at The TMC Library can do so through the Library Access Fee program.
Health care providers who are not cardholders can receive some privileges through the Library's role as the Regional Medical Library for the South Central Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. Please call the Circulation Desk 713.799.7147 for more information.
Full-Member Cards
- Available to faculty, students and staff from the Library's Governing and Supporting Institutions and members of the Harris County Medical Society. Bring your institutional identification badge to the Circulation Desk to obtain your card
- Cards must be renewed yearly to ensure uninterrupted service
TexShare Cards
TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. Members include public and academic libraries as well as academic medical libraries. TexShare enables libraries to offer a broader range of materials and services than any single library can offer its clients. The TexShare Library Card Program is a significant step towards a statewide library card system. For more information, inquire at the Circulation Desk, 713.799.7147.
