Remote Access Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use remote access?

Once your registration has been processed, the HAM-TMC Library will send you a remote-access username and password (this process may take up to two business days from the receipt of your registration). When you begin using the remote-access service, you will not need to configure your Web browser or log in prior to accessing the HAM-TMC Library. When you click on an HAM-TMC Library electronic journal or database that requires user verification, you will be prompted for your remote-access username and password.

Where do I go if I already have a remote-access username and password?

If you already have a remote-access username and password go to either the electronic journals list or the databases list.

How soon after I register may I begin using remote access?

Once the HAM-TMC Library receives your remote-access registration, it may take up to two business days to activate your remote-access account. When your remote-access account is activated, the Library will send a notification to the email address you provided.

Does the HAM-TMC Library provide any electronic resources that can be used without remote-access service?

Yes. There are approximately 400 open-access electronic journals and 30 open-access electronic databases that can be used by anyone.

How do I get an HAM-TMC Library card?

Please see our Library Cards Web page for information on obtaining a card.

Do I need to have Internet Explorer to use remote access?
