Microsoft Office Classes To Be Offered at the Library
The HAM-TMC Library in conjunction with New-Horizons Houston will be offering classes on Microsoft Office Excel, Access and PowerPoint. The HAM-TMC Library classroom is located at 1133 John Freeman Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2809. All sessions will be held in the Street Level Classroom. read more

HAM-TMC Library Hosted Exhibit
Last month the HAM-TMC Library hosted the exhibit Stamping Out Disease. The exhibit consisted of six banners in English and Spanish that included the following topics: Immunology: a Brave New World; The Golden Age of Microbiology; and The Rise and Spread of Infectious Disease. This exhibit was presented in conjunction with Be Wise – ImmunizeSM, one of the most ambitious public health programs of the Texas Medical Association (TMA). The program, a joint initiative of TMA and the TMA Alliance (a physician spouse volunteer organization), was launched to improve childhood immunization rates in Texas. read more

AIDSinfo Launches Spanish-language Web Site, infoSIDA
infoSIDA (http://www.aidsinfo.nih.gov/infoSIDA/), a comprehensive Spanish-language companion to AIDSinfo was launched on April 18, 2007. This website features the latest information about HIV treatment and clinical trials. infoSIDA features a customized home page and a search engine that locates Spanish-language resources within the site. read more

HHS and Medical Responses to Radiation Emergencies (MRRE)
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has developed an online diagnostic and treatment toolkit for health care providers who may have to deliver medical care during a radiation incident. The information on MRRE includes diagnosis and management of radiation contamination and other features to facilitate medical responses. read more
