New and Returning TexShare Databases
TexShare, the state-wide resource sharing program for academic and public libraries, provided more than 50 databases available beginning July 1, 2006. These include general databases such as Academic Search Premier, science and technology databases such as Health Source and Computer Source, and many others. The databases are currently available to Educational Level users at the Databases A-Z List on the Library's website. Descriptions of each database will be available soon. read more

Attend one or more free classes offered by the Library during the months of September-October 2006: read more

  • Lack of Currency – For the journals Library users read more frequently, information generally appears in PubMed three days to three weeks earlier than it appears in Current Contents.

  • Duplicate Coverage – The journals covered in Current Contents are also covered in the Web of Science database. A citation appears in Web of Science within two to three days of when it appears in Current Contents.

  • Expense – The cost of Current Contents equals or exceeds the combined cost of databases such as UpToDate, Journal Citation Reports (impact factors), and SCOPUS.
