Sports medicine performance and ethics was the theme of the 9th Annual Houston Conference on Health Informatics held at the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science on May 27, 2005. Laura Wilkinson, 2000 Olympic Platform Diving Gold Medallist and 2004 World Cup Gold Medallist, was the featured speaker, addressing the topic Overcoming Injury and Adversity. read more

WiFi Available to HAM-TMC Library Card Holders
The HAM-TMC Library has a new high speed wireless internet system "hot-spot" for clients with wireless laptops and PDAs. The network is open to all clients free of charge without filters. No special encryption settings or passwords are required. All you need is a wireless enabled device that supports the WiFi standard 802.3b or 802.3g. Utilizing the IEEE 802.3g standard, the system offers connections up to 54 Mbps while maintaining compatibility for older 802.11 devices. The multiple access point network provides easy access to available Library content and to destinations on the Internet from virtually anywhere in the Library. read more

New Spell Checking Feature in PubMed
Added to PubMed a few months ago to suggest alternative spellings for search terms. Terms entered with a tag field [mh], [ti], [tw], will not generate alternative spellings however. read more
