February 3, 2005, a new policy designed to accelerate the public's access

The Clinical Queries page has been redesigned to provide a
more specialized PubMed search for clinicians. The new design will include

Healthy Women: State Trends in Health and Mortality
The National Center for Health Statistics now maintains a
website which allows the user to search and download statistical data
regarding minority and women's health. Health and mortality data can be
accessed by state, race, sex and age. Using the downloadable software
provided by the site, data can be displayed, printed or customized for

Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005
The US Department of Health and Human Services just
released Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005. These Guidelines
place emphasis on the reduction of caloric intake and increased physical
activity. Report topics include: Adequate Nutrients within Calorie Needs,
Weight Management, Physical Activity, Food Groups to Encourage, Fats,
Carbohydrates, Sodium and Potassium, Alcoholic Beverages and Food Safety.

preservation of these vital research findings;
2. Securing a searchable compendium of research
publications that NIH and its awardees can use to manage their research
portfolios, monitor scientific productivity, and, ultimately, help set
research priorities, and;
3. Making published results of NIH-funded research more
readily accessible to the public, health care providers, educators, and
scientists.
