Serials Solutions, Inc. provides a new interface for
searching electronic journals. The new interface offers clarity and ease of
usage. When there are several sources for journal access, each is listed
under the title, including range of years available. Serials
Solutions' listing also provides a handy subject search
feature.
Check out the new Library web site at: http://www.library.tmc.edu
The kiosk contains 37 health brochures in five languages:
Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and English, for a total of 185
brochures, on topics such as diabetes, hepatitis, HIV, and nutrition.
Brochures are accessible via touch-screen and printing of brochures
is free of charge.
The Health is Wealth kiosk is sponsored by the Jesse
H. Jones Community Health Information Service of the HAM-TMC Library and
the Asian American Health Coalition of Houston. It is funded by the Friends
of the Texas Medical Center Library, with a gift from the Burlington
Resources Foundation, and Tammy Tran, Houston Attorney. The kiosk is a
continuation of the Consumer Health Information for Asians project, which
began providing paper health information brochures in Chinese, Vietnamese,
and English in 2000.
