Is it Just a Game? Performance and Ethics in Sports Medicine

Sports medicine performance and ethics will be the focus of the 9th Annual Houston Conference on Health Informatics.  Laura Wilkinson, 2000 Olympic Platform Diving Gold Medallist and 2004 World Cup Gold Medallist, will be the featured speaker. The topic of her presentation will be Overcoming Injury and Adversity. 

 

The conference will be held at the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science located at 1515 Hermann Drive, Houston, Texas 77004, from 8:30 – 3:30 on Friday May 27, 2005. This conference also serves as the opening event for Football: The Exhibit, to be on display at the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science during the summer.

SPORTDiscus Database

SPORTDiscus offers comprehensive, bibliographic coverage of sport, fitness and related disciplines. This database contains over 650,000 records with journal and book coverage going back to 1800. The content also consists of multi-disciplinary, international references from journal and magazine articles, books, book chapters, conference proceedings and more. Microsoft Access Classes Offered at the Library

Free Microsoft Access classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, are offered at the Library during May. To register contact Mary Jackson at mjackson@library.tmc.edu or 713.799.7170.
