This extensive database covers over 1,700 journals published worldwide. Started in August 1991, arXiv.org (formerly xxx.lanl.gov) is a highly-automated electronic archive and distribution server for research papers. Users can retrieve papers from arXiv either via the web interface, or by sending commands to the system via e-mail. Authors can use a web form to submit their papers and can also update their submissions if they choose, though previous versions remain available. Users can register to automatically receive a listing via email of newly submitted papers in areas of interest to them.

Literature appraisal results in the assignment of levels of evidence. These guidelines have been published in such journals as Emergency Medicine Journal, Archives of Disease in Childhood, and Interactive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.

The Biology Image Library allows free access for viewing image thumbnails and annotations, but only a subscription (which HAM-TMC Library does not currently provide) enables the viewing and use of full-sized versions of images under copyright.

If you have not published in Pubmed over the last ten years, you can still register, search, and network with researchers you know."

DynaMed can be integrated with Electronic Medical Record/Electronic Health Record databases. This resource is updated daily, and monitors the content of over 500 medical journals and systematic evidence review databases. Each publication is reviewed cover-to-cover, and each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate, providing a synthesis of the best available evidence. DynaMed is now available for use with certain PDA and SmartPhone devices; please check our Online Tutorials page for links to read the appropriate instructions, then call the Circulation staff for a unique serial number to use when registering with DynaMed for PDA access.
